Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

What is the EFMP?

EFMP is a Department of Defense program offered by all branches of the military and is a mandatory enrollment program for all active duty Airmen who have a special needs family member. The program is comprised of three components: EFMP-Medical (EFMP-M), EFMP-Assignments (EFMP-A) and EFMP-Family Support (EFMP-FS) that work toward a common goal of providing comprehensive and coordinated support to families.

EFMP family support services are also available at your installation. The family support services team is your main point of contact for EFMP information.

They can connect you with:

  • Military Support Services and Resources
  • Community Support Services and Resources
The family support services team can also answer specific EFMP questions based on your branch or installation.
